Kjerag

The impressive natural jewel of Norway. This majestic boulder towers impressively over the Lysefjord and is a paradise for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike.

The path to Kjerag is an adventure in itself. Hikers embark on a challenging journey through breathtaking landscapes, past crystal-clear streams and through extensive plateaus. The summit of Kjerag rewards the effort with a breathtaking panoramic view of the deep fjord and the surrounding peaks.

A highlight of the Kjerag experience is undoubtedly the famous Kjeragbolten, a large boulder wedged between two rock faces. Daring visitors can sit on this rock and indulge in the thrill of soaring over the roaring fjord at over 1,000 meters above sea level.

The rugged beauty of Kjerag and the majestic surroundings create an incomparable backdrop that delights photographers, hikers and nature lovers alike. Kjerag is more than just a peak – it is a symphony of nature that inspires adventure and admiration in equal measure. Immerse yourself in the wonders of Kjerag and experience the Norwegian wilderness at its most impressive.

Directions from the hut, via the ferry in Forsand in the Lysefjord by car approx. 3 hours, or take the ferry down via Oanes and then through the mountains. The hike is strenuous and can only be done with good shoes. Be sure to take rain gear and food with you.
I recommend driving via Lysebotn and then up the serpentines…
